This beautiful appliance is capable of holding forty six bottles of wine at one time. That will give you ample of room to have a good supply of your favorite red wines, and white wines. It will also allow you to take advantage of sales, and to have a few special bottles chilled in the fridge for special occasions.
3. EdgeStar Built-In Wine Cooler – Stainless Steel/Black
One of the features of this built in wine cooler is the specially designed racks that allow you to reverse how you store your bottles. Some of the reviews I have read about these units told me that I should be storing my bottles of wine with the neck of the bottle facing the door of the refrigerator.
Some of the reviews said that I should be storing the wine bottle with the neck of the bottle facing away from the door. This refrigeration system allows you to store the bottles either way, and if you turn one bottle with the neck facing the door, and the next bottle with the neck facing away from the door, in an alternating pattern, you will be able to store one more bottle of wine on each shelf.
This is a single zone appliance, but you have the option of ordering a dual zone version from the manufacturer. The glass door of this item is made of double paned tempered glass so the refrigerated compartment can maintain a perfect temperature. The LED interior light does not change the internal temperature like old fashioned incandescent lighting did. According to price this is the best built in wine cooler.
4. Kalamera 15 Inch Wine Refrigerator with Touch Control
One of the best things about this 15 inch built in wine cooler is how versatile it is. The appliance can be mounted beneath your countertop, or it can stand freestanding. That means you have the choice of how, and where, to place this unit in your home.
If you have read any of the wine cooler reviews then you know some of the features you want your built in wine refrigerator to have. This device has great features that will make life more enjoyable for you.
It is a frost free appliance so it is easy to maintain. It sports a gray colored glass door to help filter the harmful light rays. It has sliding racks made of beech wood to hold the bottles of wine in place.
One of the best features of the unit is a compressor that was designed to be a low vibrating, and low noise producing. Your wine will not have the sediment stirred up in it. The cabinet measures only fifteen inches wide, so it is compatible in small spaces. It holds thirty bottles of wine, and has a one touch temperature control pad. 5. Whynter BWR-18SD - 18 Bottle Built-In Wine Refrigerator
All of the built in wine cooler reviews will agree that you want a built in wine cooler that has a door capable of filtering out the harmful ultra violet rays of the sun. This built in wine refrigerator has a gray colored glass door that blocks those ultra violet rays, and still allows you to be able to see inside the unit.
The internal temperature of this mini-fridge is maintained with forced air circulation provided by a fan motor.
The fan keeps the cool air moving around your bottles of wine to maintain them at the precise temperature you have chosen. The digital LED temperature display on the front of the will let you know exactly what the temperature inside your appliance is.
The storage capacity inside the cabinet is sufficient to accommodate nineteen bottles of your favorite wine. The temperature can be set anywhere from forty degrees to sixty five degrees, so you can chill reds or white wines.
The device also has a security key that allows you to lock the door, and keep any unauthorized person from removing a bottle of your favorite wine. That makes this a good appliance to have in a shared apartment, or a shared office setting.
6. EdgeStar 36 Bottle Built-In Dual Zone Wine Cooler
The dual zone temperature control of this built in beverage cooler allows you to keep both your favorite red wine, and your favorite white wine, in the same refrigeration unit. Many people have two of these cooling boxes in their homes so they can have their white wines chilled to a lower temperature than their red wines are kept at. Each door of the system has a separate lock, and key.
If you share an apartment with a roommate and they like red wine, and you like white wine, then you can both store your wine in this chilled environment, and know that you are the only one with access to your fruity beverage.
I like the inclusion of the wooden shelves that are trimmed in stainless steel to make them stronger. The stainless steel trimming also makes it easier to wipe fingerprints from the shelves, and makes the entire unit look modernized. You will have ten shelves in the cabinet that slide into the appliance to the full depth, and two shelves that only slide into the appliance partially.
You do not have to worry about the amount of noise this device will emit while it is running. The cooling system is quiet, and the motor does not cause the cabinet to be vibrated so the wine remains undisturbed.
7. Haier HVCE 15BBH Built-In or Freestanding Wine Cellar

Inside the cabinet there is a temperature range between thirty six degrees, and seventy two degrees
The glass doors are fashioned from two panes of glass that have air trapped between them to make them insulate more efficiently.
The glass used to construct the doors is tempered so it is hard to break, and will shatter into small pieces that are less likely to injure someone if it does break.
This 24 inch built in wine cooler is perfect for people who want to store beverages other than just wine. You can easily store cans of soda, or beer, on the upper shelves, and bottles of wine, on the lower shelves. That makes this refrigerator an excellent choice to put in a family gaming room, or den. You can keep it under your wet bar, and always have chilled soda for making mixed drinks, or for serving to people who prefer a nonalcoholic beverage.
9. EdgeStar 18 Bottle Wine Cooler – Black/Stainless
The EdgeStar 18 bottle built in wine cooler does not have colored glass doors to block the infiltration of ultra violet light. Instead it has black dot matrix doors. The glass panels used to create the doors on this cooling cabinet have tiny black dots incorporated in it to diffuse the ultra violet light.
The result is a container that is easier to see inside of. The ultra slim design makes this a perfect for people who live in small spaces, or people who want to add a cooling unit, and do not have a lot of space to allot to the appliance.

10. EdgeStar 53 Bottle Wine Cooler – Steel/Black
The slide out wood trimmed wire shelves in the EdgeStar fifty three bottle built in wine cooler are easier to clean than the wooden shelves.
These slides out shelves in this system do have wooden trim on the edges to give them the elegant look, but then they have metal shelves that are easy to wipe clean. The carbon filter in this refrigeration device is removable, and easy to replace.
The carbon filter helps to keep foul odors from forming inside. These odors often occur when the cooler sits for long periods of time without being opened, so the air becomes stale, and it can form an odor.
The EdgeStare unit has blue LED lighting on the interior so you can see to read the label on your wine bottles, but the light bulbs do not increase the temperature inside the appliance.
This is important if you want to maintain a certain temperature inside the unit. There is a digital display to show you the exact temperature. This temperature should always be visible on display unless you are adjusting it.
11. Whynter Stainless Steel Door Dual Zone Wine Fridge
This is a dual zone built in wine cooler. A dual zone allows you to keep one section of the device at one temperature, and another section of the built in beverage cooler at another temperature.
That means you can keep red wines at higher temperatures than white wines, so each wine variety can be chilled to bring out their utmost flavor. This unit can be put to use as a built in wine fridge or it can be installed as a freestanding appliance.
There are vents that are placed to the front of the appliance so it can be under a cabinet without causing problems, but the exterior of the appliance is attractive enough to allow the unit to be set in full view of everyone in the room. 12. Koldfront Built-In Single Zone Wine Cooler
This built in wine fridge is only fifteen inches wide. That makes it small enough to be used in almost all homes, or businesses. It takes up very little space, but adds plenty of convenience. It has a fan forced front positioned ventilation system.
This type of ventilation allows you to mount the box flush with the cabinetry in your kitchen, and still allows the appliance to get the air flow it needs to properly function.
This wine refrigerator has wire shelves that can be slid out so you can easily reach any item that is on them. The wire is easy to wipe down, and keep clean.
The temperature of the wine is adjusted using an easy to reach touchpad that is located at the top of the appliance. You can see the digital display that tells you the temperature at all times.
There is blue LED lighting on the interior to help you make your selections. This soft lighting does not interfere with the temperature control inside the appliance.
You can mount this unit under the cabinet, or you can install it as a freestanding wine cooler.
13. NewAir AWR Built In Compressor Wine Cooler
This large built in wine cooler can be installed flush beneath a countertop in a kitchen, or possibly under a wet bar, or you can install the appliance freestanding. The ventilation happens from the front bottom section, so it is okay for the appliance to be mounted in a cabinet that encases it on three sides.
There a five shelves inside the mini fridge designed to hold as many as fifty two standard bottles of wine.
These wine bottles would be lying prone so the corks inside them would remain moistened by the liquid inside the bottle.
The blue LED lighting makes it possible for you to read the labels on the bottles of wine stored inside the unit, yet this type of lighting does not produce enough heat to raise the temperature above your selected one.
The digital thermostat and electronic controls are conveniently positioned in the front of the unit. These controls are easy to reach, and you can change the temperature setting with the simple push of a button.
The glass doors are made of tempered glass so they are break resistant. The doors have also been colored to help reduce damages that could occur if ultra violet light from the sun entered the interior of the cabinet where the wine bottles are kept.

The wooden shelves in this forty six bottle dual zone built in wine cooler will cradle your favorite bottles of wine, and keep them protected, until you are ready to open them. The shelves slide out on this built in beverage cooler to help you make your selection and reach your wine.
The dual zone operation allows you to keep white wines chilled to their preferred temperature, and red wines chilled to their preferred temperature.
You should always serve white wines at a lower temperature than you serve complex red wines. Having a dual control unit is akin to having two units, except the single one does not need as much space as two would.
The glass on the door has the matrix dot blocks to block out the ultra violet light, but the clear quality that allows you to have a good visual of the inner content.
The doors come with a safety lock to help you protect your wine from unauthorized samplers.
15. Titan 25 Bottle Single Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator
A built in wine refrigerator should allow you to store either red wines, or white wines, at a temperature that will allow the beverage to have its best flavor. The majority of people who have these cooling systems installed in their homes want one that is large enough to store a case of wine at a time, but small enough that the appliance does not take up a large section of under counter space. A cabinet large enough to hold twenty five standard bottles of wine is perfect the majority of homeowners.
The stainless steel of the exterior cabinet makes this appliance capable of fitting in with most modern décor. It has clear glass on the door so you can easily see inside, but there are a matrix of black dots incorporated into the clear glass to help reduce penetration by ultra violet light. 16. Vinotemp 21-Bottle Dual-Zone Touch Screen Wine Cooler
Having a best built in wine cooler means that the appliance will be set under a cabinet top, and most cases they will be enclosed on at least three sides, and that is why the ventilation for this built in wine fridge is located on the bottom, at the front of the appliance. It has also been designed to work perfectly as a freestanding appliance. You have more options on where to place this device than you do with most of these appliances.
18. NewAir 18 Bottle Dual Zone Built-In Wine Refrigerator
This built in wine cooler is better described as a dual zone wine and beverage cooler. It has the ability to store eighteen bottles of wine, or fifty eight standard cans of beer, or soda. It has French doors that divide the dual temperature zone of the interior. Your red wines can be kept at a warmer temperature than your cans of beer, or your bottles of white wine are. The digital temperature controls of this dual zone device are easy to reach.
They are located at the top of each section, just behind the tempered glass of the stainless steel framed door. You can easily see the display of the temperature inside each portion of the mini fridge, and you can change the temperature with the touch of a button.

There is blue LED lighting on the interior of each section so you can easily see the labels of the bottles, and the shelving slides out so you can reach the contents easily.
19. EdgeStar Built In Wine and Beverage Cooler
I love the idea of a built in wine and beverage cooler having French doors to divide the two temperature zones. Most built in dual zone wine coolers have temperature adjustment that allow the top portion of the built in wine fridge to be set at one temperature and the bottom portion of the built in wine refrigerator to be set at another temperature. Each side has a digital display telling you what the internal temperature of the unit is.
The controls to adjust the temperature are easy to reach, and it only takes the push of a button to raise, or lower, the temperature. The soft glow of the blue LED lighting allows you to identify the items inside, but this type of lighting does not create enough heat to alter the temperature control inside the unit.

It is large enough to keep a supply of wine handy for small restaurants, catering events, or large parties. The black, and stainless, exterior make the appliance adaptable to any decorating style. The best wine cooler will help you to serve your wine at the perfect temperature. When you properly chill a wine you help to keep the natural fruity flavor at its peak.
Not all wines should be chilled. Some wines like the full bodied Cabernets taste best when they are served at about seventy degrees. White wines and lighter bodied red wines like merlots taste better when they are chilled.

There is a default shut off on the display light so that it goes off after ten minutes. The unit also has shelves that are easy to remove for cleaning purposes.
4. AKDY Single Zone Thermoelectric Counter Top Wine Cooler
A freestanding wine cooler like this eight bottle unit can be used as an under counter wine cooler or a chiller that sets on top of the counter, depending on the space you have available. The temperature control of this cooler is awesome.
With this adjustable temperature control allows you to keep your wine at the correct temperature for maximum flavor.

5. Igloo 6-Bottle Wine Cooler - Black - Glass Door
The first thing that you will love about this compact small wine cooler is the fact that the appliance will hold six of your favorite bottles of wine. It is the perfect size wine chiller for a single person, or for a couple.
You do not need a lot of space in your home to have this mini wine refrigerator. It is about the size of a large microwave oven. The legs are adjustable on the bottom of the refrigerated unit so you can make the appliance sit taller, or sit closer to the countertop.
There is an interior light in the refrigerated cabinet so you will have no problem selecting which bottle of wine you want to open. The bottles lie on their side in the unit so the corks are always kept moist and the wine stays good for a longer amount of time.
There are adjustable temperature controls on this little unit just like the adjustable temperature controls you find on the larger wine cooling units. This feature lets you store white wines, or red wines, at the perfect temp for their consumption.
The maintenance of a constant internal temp is helped by the double panes of glass used to create the door on this little refrigerated box. A single pane of glass can allow the cool air to escape, or the warmer air outside of the box to enter, but when the manufacturer placed two panes of glass together they created a pocket of air between the panes of glass.
That pocket of air works as an insulator to help hold the cold air inside the refrigerated cabinet, and to keep the warmer air outside of the unit from entering.

The door of the unit is curved so it is attractive to the eye. It is made of smoked glass so it reduces the damaging effects of ultra violet rays, and it has a mysterious and sensuous feeling to it. The unit is elegant in appearance, and it will add beauty to any room it is placed in.
7. Wine Enthusiast 272 03 18 05 Silent 18 Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler
If you drink wine you know that it is preferred for you to store wine lying on its side. When wine lies on its side the fluid inside the bottle keeps the cork material from becoming dry. If the cork material dries the cork will shrink, and when the cork shrinks it can allow air to get past it. Air in the wine bottle means spoiled wine. Wine drinkers will love that this small wine cooler does store wine bottles in the preferred method, but it also allows for an opened bottle of wine to be stored in an upright position.
After a bottle has been opened you do not want to lay it down on its side because the wine could seep out around the cork. This wine refrigerator allows you to have your wine, and save the remainders of the bottle for drinking at a later time.
The dual temperature zone of this refrigerated wine storage unit insures that you can keep red wines and white wines at their best temperature, at the same time, in the same unit. Since most people drink both wine varieties this feature makes perfect sense.
This model of refrigerated wine storage has a digital display to show the temperature inside the unit, and a control panel that can change the temperature with the touch of a button.
The upper portion of the refrigerated cabinet holds more bottles than the lower section does. The upper portion keeps a temperature between fifty four and sixty six degrees. That means the upper section will be the best area to store red wines, because the bottom section can be cooled to forty six degrees and that is a better temperature for white wines, or soda.
8. AKDY 8 Bottle Single Zone Thermoelectric Counter Top Freestanding Wine Cooler Cellar
The small wine cooler that you purchase should be one that is quiet. If you buy a wine cellar that is noisy you will not be satisfied, and you are likely to not recommend to your friends that they purchase one of these devices.
This particular wine chilling cabinet is whisper quiet so you could even have it in the same room that you sleep in without it disturbing you.
I like the new touchpad control systems. When you look at the digital display on the control pad you will not have any trouble seeing what temperature the interior of the device is holding at. When you want the temperature to be warmer you will touch a button and the thermostat will be set to a higher temperature.
If you decide you want the temperature to be lowered you touch another button on the control pad and the interior of the cabinet will become cooler than it was. This is easy for everyone and allows us all to have our beverages served at the temperatures we like.
You will love that this appliance is very energy efficient and it will not cause your electric bill to be increased. The device is a freestanding unit that can be housed on any flat surface in your home. You do not need to build a cabinet to house the unit, and you do not need any help connecting the unit to the power supply, because it simply plugs into a standard electrical outlet.

3. Westinghouse WWT060TB Thermal Electric 6 Bottle Wine Cellar
If I were to design a small wine cooler it would be capable of holding about six bottles of wine. You would be able to lay the bottles down on their sides so the fluids in the bottle would keep the cork moist enough to not be damaged.
When a cork dries out it allows air to enter the bottle and that air causes the wine to break down quickly.
If I designed a small refrigerated unit to store my wine in I would make it able to maintain temperatures between forty six degrees and sixty six degrees. That would make the device capable of chilling white wines cold enough to be delicious and red wines warm enough to retain their full bodied flavor.
If I designed a refrigerated wine chiller it would be basic black in color. Black can be used in any room no matter what decorating style, or color scheme, the room has. Black can be used in offices, elegant rooms, and in simple dens.

I would make a digital display showing the current temperature inside the box so that I could see if I needed to make any adjustments.
I do not need to design the electric chilling box for wine that I have described to you. Westinghouse has already designed a unit that has all of those qualities I named.
4. Wine Enthusiast Silent 8 Bottle Touchscreen Wine Refrigerator
This is a wine cooler with a huge amount of style. The beautiful smoked colored glass of the door is tempered so that it does not easily break. The glass panel is framed by stainless steel for looks and stability. The front of the refrigerated unit is not disturb by a handle protruding from the door because this device has a recessed handle. The look is a seamless beauty that allows you to see inside the unit where a soft blue LED light illuminates the bottles of wine stored there.
The shelves inside this refrigerated wine cooling system are designed to hold the standard Bordeauz sized wine bottles, but the shelves can be removed, and reconfigured, so you can store any size wine bottle you choose in the unit. Customizing this device may make it hold fewer bottles of wine at one time, but that is not as important as the ability to hold the bottles you prefer inside the unit.
You will be able to set the temperature inside this refrigerated cooling box between fifty one degrees and sixty four degrees. That is a range that will allow you to have red wines, or white wines, chilled to the right temperature for consumption. It will also insure that if you have unexpected guests drop in you will have a sufficient amount of wine to serve them. This small wine cooler holds the perfect amount of wine for most homes.

Most of the refrigerants that have to be put into compressors on refrigeration systems is expensive, and requires a licensed air condition service technician to install. This unit does not require this refrigerant so it is friendlier to the earth, and the air we breathe. The appliance is low maintenance.
There is an LED light on the interior portion of the refrigerated cabinet. The light serves two purposes. It illuminates the bottles with a soft glow and causes them to look more attractive behind the glass door of the cabinet. 7. Magic Chef MCWC6B 6-Bottle Wine Cooler
There is a saying that states; “Love grows best in little houses”. That may very well be true, but it can be very hard to get all of the appliances that you desire to fit into little houses. Wine drinkers who live in small houses are in luck, because this small wine cooler will sit on top of a cabinet, it is freestanding, and it does not take up a lot of space. It is about the size of a small microwave oven.
Inside this refrigerated wine box you can keep as many as six bottles of wine. It is designed to hold Bordeaux size wine bottles lying on their side. Keeping wine on its side is a way to keep the cork wet, and the wine protected.
The wire shelves allow the cooled air inside the cabinet to reach all sides of the wine bottle so the bottle chills quicker, and remains chilled without causing the appliance to use too much energy.
This is a small unit, but it is huge on features, and technology. It has thermoelectric cooling so it operates very quietly. It does not produce a lot of vibration so it does not disturb the sediment inside the wine bottles. The shelves are sculpted so they snuggle the wine bottles and do not allow them to move when you open the door to the unit, or when you remove another bottle.
The temperature inside the cooling unit is adjustable from forty six degrees to sixty four degrees. Those temperatures make it possible for you to store either red wine or white wine.
Built in Wine Cooler VS Under-Counter Wine Cooler
If you have been considering getting a wine cooler then you might have been trying to decide whether you should get a built in wine cooler or an under the counter cooler. There are plenty of similarities in these two items, but there are a few differences that might help you decide which one is right for your home.
Built in wine coolers have air ventilation on the front of the beverage cooler so that the air can flow properly around the appliance. An appliance like this one will need proper air flow, and ventilation, in order to function properly.
A built in wine refrigerator is not freestanding. It will have to be attached to the counter top or to the wall behind it. The under the counter versions are freestanding and can actually stand under a counter or on top of a counter, depending on the space you have available.
A built in styled unit may not be suitable if you are renting the place you live in. The built in versions are more permanent than the under the counter varieties that are freestanding. You want to make sure that your landlord approves the installation of the device before you install one.
A built in version may have to be hard wired to receive electricity. An under the counter variety, will have a plug and cord attached, so it can be plugged into the nearest electrical outlet. Make sure that the item you are buying is the one that you will be able to install without hiring an electrical contractor.
The sizes of these items are comparable. You can get built in cabinets that are as small as twelve inches wide, and you can get the freestanding versions that are about the same size. The only difference would be if you wanted to create an entire room to be your built in space.
Benefits of Small Wine Cooler
If you are in the market for a new refrigerator, know that you do not necessarily have to go with the typical standard size. If you live alone, have little extra space, or just need an extra fridge to add to your regular one, you can benefit from a small refrigerator. Find out the many uses for such an appliance.
Many people assume that just because they have the space available, they need to purchase a full size fridge. However, most people who live alone do not use the same amount of space for their food that a family does, which means that much of the refrigerated area is wasted. This can cause electricity bills that are higher than they need to be. Rather than pay the upfront cost for a regular sized fridge, and then pay for the electricity usage every month thereafter, consider purchasing a small refrigerator. You can choose from several sizes, all of which are less than 20 cubic feet, which is the minimum that most families have. You can always upgrade later if you need to, and use the small refrigerator as an extra appliance.
Many people only have limited space in their house. This space issue motivates people to switch some traditional appliances and units to contemporary ones, for example: nowadays people start switching their traditional vented fireplace to minimal modern fireplace. Perhaps you live in a dorm or small apartment with a cramped kitchen. Filling a small residence with a large fridge does not usually make sense, especially if you live alone or with one roommate. If this is the case for you, consider small refrigerators.
Most dorm rooms look great with a fridge that is anywhere from two to five cubic feet. Of course, you can purchase a larger one if it is needed, but most people in small residences find this to be the perfect size. An apartment with a small kitchen may be better off with a fridge that is under the traditional 20 cubic feet, as this can hold a lot of food without taking over the entire room.
If you already have a good sized kitchen fridge and just want an extra, a small refrigerator can be great for storing drinks and snacks that need to be kept refrigerated. You can keep it in your home office, den, or bedroom. Note that many small refrigerators fit perfectly under the counters, so figure out whether you want to do this before buying a fridge so that you can measure the space you have and you may use it as an under counter wine cooler. Keeping a small refrigerator somewhere other than your kitchen can help you and guests be as comfortable as possible, with constant access to cold beverages.
There are a lot of people who live in economy size dwellings that could use a small wine cooler. Many people live in travel trailers and move from one scenic trailer park to another. These little wine chilling units allow those people to have the conveniences they have at home with them as they travel.
There are a lot of people who have large places to live, but they still do not want huge wine storage units inside their homes. These smaller versions of the refrigerated cabinets designed to house chilled wine, allow everyone to have the amount of wine they want on hand.
Things to Consider before Buying Best Wine Cooler
- Before you rush out to try and find the best under counter wine refrigerator you need to consider a few things. The type of wine that you drink most frequently has to be considered first and foremost. You will need a refrigeration unit that will be able to keep that type of wine cool enough for your preferences.
- The second thing to consider before buying a cooling unit is the amount of space you have for the unit. Some coolers are very slim and can hold more bottles of wine than you would think. Measure the available space that you have before you begin to shop.
- Determine whether you want your unit to be freestanding, or be one that has to be attached to the counter or wall. It is important for you to buy a u it that is compatible with the space you have for it.
- Compare the warranties offered by the manufacturer. Each company differs slightly in the warranty they offer so read the fine print before you buy.
- The last consideration you will make is the price of the cooler. You want to buy a cooler that you can afford. The best way to do this is to set up a budget and shop for appliances that are within the price range you established.
FAQ’s About Wine Fridges and Beverage Coolers
1. I am remodeling my kitchen. What products are appropriate for under counter use?
Ans: Built-in wine fridge are specifically designed to sit flush with the rest of your kitchen cabinetry. These specific units are front-vented and are designed to allow the unit to be pushed flat against the wall and the surrounding cabinets without overheating. Built-in coolers are slightly more expensive, but do have the advantage of saving floor space. Built-in units can also be used in freestanding applications. Freestanding wine coolers should never be used for an under counter application as the units will over heat and eventually fail.
2. I live in an apartment and have limited space for a wine cooler. What would you suggest?
Ans: Counter-top wine coolers are designed to deal with limited space applications. Measure the specific space dimensions that are available for a wine cooler. Each of our counter-top models will have their respective dimensions clearly displayed. Select a wine cooler that will fit your needs and space limitations.
3. I just got my compressor-designed wine cooler; can I plug it in right away?
Ans: No, the new wine cooler should stand a minimum 2 hour period before plugging it in. There is oil in the compressor that may have moved up into the sealed system while being shipped. Letting the unit stand allows the oil time to settle. Plugging it in immediately could result in damage to the unit. Consult your products factory supplied information package for more information. If you purchased a thermoelectric type wine cooler, it can be used immediately.
4. Can I run a mini appliance on the top of my cooler?
Ans: No, you should not operate any appliance from on top of your wine cooler unless it has a designed in work top. You also should not run any appliance from the same circuit as the cooler.
5. Are there wine coolers that can accommodate cans and other beverages?
Ans: We have several products that store wine as well as canned beverages. These products are in the Beer Cooler category. We also carry several products that will keep mini, pony and full-sized kegs of beer.
6. Do you have any wine coolers that have locks?
Ans: Yes, we have several models that have locks. Most of the EdgeStar Wine Cooler have security locks .
7. What does “dual-zone” mean in some product descriptions?
Ans: Some wine coolers are designed with two separate compartments, each with their own temperature controls. This dual-zone storage feature allows storage of your wine collection at different temperatures; for example, red as opposed to white wine.
8. What are the power requirements for my new wine cooler or beverage center?
Ans: All of the products we sell require a standard 110 Volt, 15-amp outlet just like a standard refrigerator. Some single bottle server and chillers may have AC adapters that allow them to run on a 12-volt current like in your car or recreational vehicle.
9. I have a single zone wine cooler. What is the best temperature for keeping red and white wines?
Ans: If one had to choose just one temperature to store both red and white wines, the temperature setting should be at 55 degrees F. This temperature is slightly colder than the best one for reds and slightly warmer than the best one for whites. You can compensate somewhat for this by storing your reds on the top shelves of your wine cooler and the whites on the bottom shelves. Warmer air will rise to the top and colder air will settle to the bottom.
10. My thermoelectric wine cooler fan seems to run all of the time. Is something wrong with it?
Ans: The fan must run continuously to move the air within your wine cooler. This enables the wine refrigerator to cool your stored wines equally. A compressor based wine cooler, which is designed similar to your basic refrigerator, will cycle on and off based on the inside temperature as it relates to your desired temperature setting. Both of these operating conditions are considered normal.
11. My wine cooler is making weird noises. What is wrong?
Ans: Expansion and contraction of the interior walls of your wine cooler may make a popping or cracking noise. This is normal behavior.
12. My wine cooler does not appear to be cooling. What could be the matter?
Ans: If your wine cooler is rear-vented, it may not have enough clearance to properly disperse heat. You should allow at least 2 inches on the sides and 4 inches on the back of empty space for proper ventilation. If the ambient temperature of your home is extremely high or the wine cooler is sitting in direct sunlight, these conditions will also make the wine cooler work harder than it was designed to do. You may have to move the wine refrigerator to a cooler part of the house and out of direct sunlight. If the condition persists, call a repairperson to check your unit for satisfactory operation.
13. I bought a portable icemaker but I cannot find where to hook up a drain. Can you help?
Ans: The portable icemakers we carry at Ideal Wine Coolers do not need a drain hook up. Any ice you do not use is melted and recycled into more fresh ice. It is important to keep the interior strainer clean because a clogged strainer will affect the efficient operation of the icemaker.
14. What can I get to monitor humidity levels in my wine cooler?
Ans: Several portable devices are available that can monitor humidity and/or temperature in your wine cooler. Ideal Wine Coolers has a temperature/humidity gauge available in our Wine Accessory Collection.
16. What size are the Co2 tanks that come with the beer keg cooler?
Ans: Each kegerator comes with a 5-pound Co2 bottle designed to hold Co2 at 1800 PSI. All required fittings are also included to hook up to the keg of beer. This bottle will hold enough Co2 to serve 5 to 7 kegs of beer.
17. Where can I get Co2 bottles filled?
Ans: Start your local search for Co2 at welding shops, hospital gas suppliers, party supply stores and fire extinguisher service businesses. Some places have a Co2 tank exchange program similar to ones where you can exchange barbeque grill tanks.
18. Wine coolers and other products come with a warranty. Can I purchase an extended warranty?
Ans: Each product manufacturer has their own unique warranty programs. When your product arrives, check out the warranty registration information for possibilities of purchasing additional warranty coverage.
What Is Room Temperature?
One of the biggest concerns and questions about wine storage is “what exactly is room temperature”?
Most people take the literal interpretation that red wine should be served at room temperature and white wines need to be served chilled, or in other words, kept in a standard food refrigerator.
Well, in days past “room temperature” was far lower than what is considered comfortable by today’s standards so more often than not that means that red wine is served far too warm.
Conversely, white wines that are served too chilled will have lost their flavor and nuance. The Dual Temperature Wine Refrigerator solves both of these problems and will keep those wines ready to serve in perfect drinking condition.
They are capable of keeping wine, both white and red, at the optimal drinking temperature in both a stable and a well-ventilated environment. They are very user-friendly with accurate controls and interchangeable temperature zones which allow you to choose which settings work better for your particular wine collection.
These cooling units are stylish as well as functional and come in a variety of sizes and can be either stainless steel or made with custom wood panels in different finishes.
Most common is the under counter model. You don’t have to remodel your kitchen in order to take advantage of the Dual Zone Wine Refrigerator but rather you can put them anywhere you have the space.
Perhaps it would work better in the “Man Cave” that is downstairs or perhaps just tucked in a corner in the kitchen or spare room. In other words, wherever there is a convenient electrical outlet you can install your wine refrigerator.

Wine Helpful Hints
The helpful hints below are organized by subject matter subtitle. We hope you will find them useful.
General Wine Hints:
Filling an ice bucket halfway with equal parts of water and ice will chill the wine faster. For a fresh wine stain, pour a generous amount of salt on the stain, pat it down, let it stand 10 for minutes, scrape away the salt, then blot thoroughly with club soda.
Did you throw the cork away and want to store the leftover wine? Just put a piece of plastic wrap around the neck and hold it in place with a tightly wound rubber band.
Have wine that was left out and gone bad? It is still good for cooking or you can freeze it into ice cubes for later use in sauces and casseroles. It is not advisable to store your wine with foods that can ferment, like cheese. Moldy flavors will enter the wine through the cork. The wine will take on the taste of what ever permeates the cork.
Remember the serving temperature of wine is not necessarily the same as its optimum storing temperature. Always serve your wine on the cool side if uncertain as to what the right serving temperature should be. You now have your wine cooler that keeps your wine longer, so host a wine tasting party! It is a party enjoyable for wine lovers, and a fun way to get together with family and friends.

If you open wine but do not finish it, pour the leftovers in a smaller container and refrigerate it until you can finish it. If you do not finish it within three days, the taste and aroma will degrade rapidly. After three days, save it for cooking or just throw it out.
When you host the wine party, one 750 ml bottle of wine holds about four or five glasses, so one bottle for every two guests should be enough.
Wine serving temperatures are best defined by one’s individual tastes. On your next bottle of wine, decant half of it into another container and try serving the two different halves at different temperatures. This little experiment could help you define the best serving temperatures for your own tastes.
Whether in a wine rack or wine cooler, your wine should be stored flat (i.e., horizontally). If your wine has a screw cap instead of a cork, you can store them upright. Always store your wine in a dark place to minimize affects from UV rays and other light. To keep your cork pliable, you should store your wine in an area where humidity averages around 70 percent. If you cannot readily control the wine storage temperature as in a dual-zone wine cooler, the best all around temperature for storing wine is 55 degrees F.
Red Wine Hints:
Serve red wines below room temperature so that alcohol will not produce an unpleasant bite on the palate. Most red wines like Merlot, Bordeaux, Zinfandel, and Shiraz should be served around 60 degrees F. If you have over chilled your red wine, warm it in the glass with your hands and enjoy the aromas as they unfold.
Most restaurants serve their red wines too warm. Ask your waiter for an ice bucket to chill the wine off before you drink it.
White Wine Hints:
Champagne is best served slightly colder than a typical white wine at about 40 degrees F. If the bottle is coming out of your refrigerator (typically 35 degrees F.), let the bottle stand at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving.
Serve most white wines like Chardonnays, Rieslings and Sauvignon Blancs at about 45 degrees F. to maximize the aromas and flavors in order to get full enjoyment from them.
Draft Beer Hints:
Draft beer is best stored and served between 34 and 40 degrees F. from a keg cooler. A standard refrigerator temperature is normally around 35 degrees F.
